Laguna Beach Music Festival

New York Times bestselling author and winner of both the MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship and the Avery Fisher Prize, pianist Jeremy Denk serves as Artistic Director for the 21st annual Laguna Beach Music Festival.

The Laguna Beach Music Festival is a multi-day series of classical and contemporary concerts, community engagement programs, and dynamic special events. In three concerts taking place February 17-19 at the Laguna Playhouse, Jeremy Denk and guest artists Stefan Jackiw and the Isidore String Quartet perform works by Schubert, Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Ives, and more.

LBMF Opening Night: HYMNS, SONGS, AND SONATAS

Friday, February 17, 2023, 8pm 
Laguna Playhouse

The 2023 Laguna Beach Music Festival kicks off with the musical languages of Charles Ives and Johannes Brahms, performed by Jeremy Denk and Stefan Jackiw. In between the Ives Sonatas, chorus members will intersperse popular hymns which the sonatas are based upon. Preceding Brahms’ Sonata No. 1, his Regenlied (“Rain Song”) from Lieder, Op. 59 will be performed by Jeremy Denk and soloist.

LBMF: AN EVENING WITH JEREMY DENK

Saturday, February 18, 2023, 8pm 
Laguna Playhouse

The second concert of the Festival features Jeremy Denk as he shares a unique program that contrasts Bach and Beethoven with American works that spotlight overlooked composers.
