10' swells and in the trough all you could see were walls of water. A grey whale and it's baby passed by to the west while elephant seals sunbathed and cormorants dive off rocks. Suddenly there's a school of dolphins surrounding and leaping, and I panic trying not to drop my cameras, dumping them into the drybox, laughing. All of the waters off Laguna Beach for 10 square miles are a protected, part of the Laguna Beach State Marine Reserve and the Laguna Beach State Marine Conservation Area. It's pristine, it's magic, and you can surf, swim, dive, snorkel, and kayak the whole damn thing, just leave no trace you were there. @visitlaguna #mylagunabeach @lavidalaguna
