Beachfront café is second restaurant at The Ranch at Laguna Beach to receive “Ocean Friendly” status

The Ranch at Laguna Beach is proud to announce its Lost Pier Café has been registered as an “Ocean Friendly Restaurant” by the Surfrider Foundation. This certification makes Lost Pier Café the second “Ocean Friendly Restaurant” at the Ranch at Laguna Beach, following the designation received by the property’s Harvest Restaurant in 2017.

As an Ocean Friendly Restaurant, Lost Pier Café meets stringent requirements set by the Surfrider Foundation, including banning the use of all single-use plastics, switching to paper straws, using biodegradable foodware for on/offsite dining, and implementing proper recycling practices. Staff working at the restaurant also ensure that additional energy and water conservation efforts are being executed daily.

As the stewards of an incredible natural landscape spanning from Aliso Canyon to Aliso Beach, The Ranch at Laguna Beach regularly implements new practices to ensure it is on the cutting edge of sustainability. Most recently, the property hosted a public beach clean-up at the site of Lost Pier Café and will continue do host regular clean-ups to strengthen their efforts and commitment to the preservation of Orange County’s iconic coastline.  

The Ranch at Laguna Beach’s Lost Pier Café is located on the sands of Aliso Beach in south Laguna Beach. The barefoot beach cafe is open Wednesday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm, and Sunday through Tuesday from 8am to 3pm. The restaurant also hosts Locals’ Nights on the first Wednesday of every month, inviting the community to come together over live music, light bites, beer, wine and s’mores roasted over portable fire pits.  The restaurant encourages guests to indulge in fresh, artistically curated bites from sunrise to sunset, with menus crafted by The Ranch at Laguna Beach’s Executive Chef Kyle St. John.  

The Surfrider Foundation is a nonprofit environmental organization driven by a network of coastal defenders who are devoted to the protection of our ocean, waves and beaches.
