Container Gardens & Garden Art SILENT AUCTION

Container Gardens & Garden Art SILENT AUCTION

At the Laguna Beach Garden Club, Inc. February 8 meeting, an annual fundraiser,

Container Gardens & Garden Art Silent Auction takes place at 9:30 am. Unique arrangements of all colors and sizes will be on display for all to bid on at all price points.  Proceeds will go toward educational school gardens, local scholarships and civic beautification.
The Laguna Beach Garden Club embraces school gardens throughout Laguna Beach. We believe in the many educational benefits children obtain with hands-on gardening. Gardening activities engage students in a learning process not available in classrooms.

We financially support school gardens at El Morro and Top of the World Elementary Schools, Thurston Middle School, Laguna Beach Presbyterian Pre-School, and Anneliese Willowbrook Campus.

The Laguna Beach Garden Club, Laguna Beach Beautification Council, and the City of Laguna have collaborated by planting around the magnificent Melaleuca Tree in Heisler Park. Ruben Flores has been on a mission to save this beautiful tree from the many climbers it has been supporting for too many years. Its limbs are damaged, and the over 50-year-old tree is in danger of being no more. While the plants are growing, please remind any climbers you may see to please resist the temptation of using it as a bench.

The Laguna Beach Garden Club, Inc.

The Non-profit Laguna Beach Garden Club, Inc. was founded in 1928 in beautiful Laguna Beach, CA and will celebrate its 91st anniversary in February.  Its members support a wide variety of projects related to education in gardening, horticulture, landscape and floral design, conservation, ecology and bird life.

We make annual donations to several local public gardens, arboretums and schools (including Top of the World, El Morro and Thurston Middle School). Laguna Beach High School students have benefitted for many years from our scholarship program.  The downtown “Pocket Garden” on Forest Avenue was refurbished through the hard work of our members and we are committed to maintain its beauty indefinitely.  In conjunction with the Beautification Council, we planted and maintain the Sister Cities Garden in Heisler Park.
We hold monthly meetings on the 2nd Friday during the months of September through May, where we host many presenters on a variety of topics. Meetings are held at Tankersley Hall at the Laguna Beach Presbyterian Church, located at 415 Forest Ave. There is no charge for guests on their first visit.

The annual Gate & Garden Tour is a public viewing of several of the loveliest gardens that Laguna Beach residents have to offer.  The tour is our most important fund-raising event and makes possible all of our environmental projects and scholarships.
As we make our plans for the future, the members of the Laguna Beach Garden Club and its 200+ members remain wholeheartedly committed to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the community we serve.  We are happy that we can make a difference.
We are members of the California Garden Club Inc., which includes membership in the National Garden Clubs Inc.  We are incorporated and have well defined by-laws with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation.
